Wenger denies Arsenal interest in Morata, Pato
It has been widely reported that the Gunners had
secured a deal with Spanish giants Madrid to take Morata on loan in
January, but Wenger has denied any contact.
“There is no truth in that,” he said. “That is all I can say, I have not been in touch with them.”With Arsenal’s scoring burden resting heavy on the shoulders of Olivier Giroud, much speculation has been made over a possible move for former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato as well.
However, Wenger played down such reports and instead focused on the impending return of forward Yaya Sanogo, who has been sidelined with a back injury.
“We have at the moment Yaya Sanogo who is a striker we brought in during the summer. He is coming back from injury in January so hopefully he will help us in the second part of the season,” said Wenger.
