Real Madrid 'forcing Di Maria to stay at Bernabeu'

Real Madrid 'forcing Di Maria to stay at Bernabeu'

The Argentine international has seen speculation over his future at the Santiago Bernabeu return in recent weeks, over an increasingly marginalised role in the first team behind Gareth Bale’s rise to prominence.
Whilst reports in the last week have listed the 25-year-old has upset with the situation, and his reaction at the weekend to being substituted early in the second half of Madrid’s draw with Xativa has been read into as proof of his discontent, reports are that he cannot leave the club in January.
AS believe that Los Blancos have formally communicated to Di Maria this position, explaining that if he wanted to stay with the club last summer, he cannot leave now as his departure, followed by injuries to other players, could hit the team hard.
Di Maria has been encouraged by the club to continue pushing in competition with Bale, but the winger is described as having a distant relationship with Coach Carlo Ancelotti and holding no trust in President Florentino Perez.
