Sunderland hoping to sign South Korean international Ki Sung-Yueng on permanent deal
Sunderland
manager Gus Poyet wants to turn the loan signing of South Korea
international Ki Sung-Yueng in to a permanent move in January.
Poyet has been impressed by the 24-year-old midfielder during Sunderland’s
resurgence in recent weeks and he will hope to persuade Swansea to sell in
January.
Ki cost the Welsh club £6m from Celtic in 2012 and has impressed since
replacing the suspended Lee Cattermole in Sunderland’s starting line-up.
“It is still early doors and I don't know how expensive he is, but we will
see,” said Poyet when asked about Ki’s future. “He plays the type of
football that I really admire.
"He has the ability to pass the ball with just one touch and change from
one side to the other, or run with the ball and have a shot with either
foot
