Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner says he would like to join Real Madrid or Barcelona in January transfer window
Nicklas Bendtner has said he would like to join either Real
Madrid or Barcelona
if as expected he leaves Arsenal
in January.
The Denmark striker, known for his enormous self-belief, has made little
impact this season as back-up to Olivier Giroud, making just three
substitute appearances in the Premier League and failing to score in any
competition.
Bendtner failed to score in Serie A during a loan spell at Juventus last
season and did agree to join Crystal Palace in the summer, but the deal fell
through when Arsenal failed to sign reinforcements up front. Now the
25-year-old is setting his sights higher, admitting he does not want to be a
substitute at the Emirates any longer.
"It is the sport that is most important," he
told Politiken. "I'm going somewhere where I know I can be happy to
play, on a team where I can score goals and preferably to win something.
"I do not want to sit on the bench, staring. I love playing lots of games."
